MT6701

The MT6701 is a magnetic rotary encoder that outputs an absolute angle rather than an incremental count, so the controller always knows the shaft position immediately after power-up without a homing routine. It supports SSI, I²C, ABZ and UVW outputs, which means it can drop into designs expecting either a serial absolute interface or a traditional quadrature encoder signal.
Overview
The MT6701 is a magnetic rotary position encoder from CONNTEK that combines the Hall front end, the angle calculation and the output interface on one die. The datasheet lists a 3.3 – 5.0 V supply and an on-chip EEPROM for configuration, which requires VDD above 4.5 V while programming and can be rewritten repeatedly. Angle output latency is under 5 µs.
Output options cover most control loops: I2C, SSI, ABZ incremental, UVW, analog voltage and PWM, plus a Z-axis push detection channel. ABZ resolution is programmable up to 1024 pulses per revolution, and the device is supplied in SOP-8 or QFN3x3-16L. Because position is absolute from power-up, no homing sequence is needed.
