Magnetic Sensors

KTM1302

Manufacturer: CONNTEK

The KTM1302 sits between a magnetic sensing element and a motor controller. It conditions the field signal and produces ABZ or UVW commutation outputs directly, which means the motor control firmware receives the same signal format it would get from an optical encoder. Configurable pole count lets one part serve several motor designs.

Overview

The KTM1302 is a magnetic switch sensor built in CMOS technology and specified for low-current, omnipolar field detection. The datasheet gives three operating versions: a 160 nA low-speed part at 3.0 V, a 600 nA version switching at 1.6 kHz, and a continuously operating version at 1.9 µA. The supply range is 1.8 – 5.5 V and the operating temperature range is -40 to +125 °C.

The device detects a field parallel to the package surface and is offered in SOT-23-3L (MSL-1) and TO-92S. A 100 nF decoupling capacitor is recommended close to the VDD pin. The low quiescent current makes it a fit for water and gas meters, liquid-level detection and other always-on battery products.
