The KTH1604SH is a Hall-effect switch rather than a measuring sensor — it reports a digital state when the field crosses a threshold. Average current draw is under 2 µA, which is what makes it usable in a design that has to run for months on a coin cell. The 1.65 V minimum supply also lets it run directly from a single-cell battery rail.
Overview
The KTH1604SH is an omnipolar Hall-effect switch from CONNTEK intended for battery-powered sensing. Two speed versions are offered: a 5 Hz part that draws 1.6 µA at 1.8 V and a 20 Hz part at 3.3 µA, both operating from a 1.6 – 5.5 V supply. The output is a digital level, so no ADC is needed on the host, and on-chip temperature compensation plus clock logic keeps the switching point stable.
The device responds to either magnetic polarity and comes in the standard HFBP1010-4L (FP4) package over a -40 to +85 °C range. Typical applications are lid, cover and door position detection, wearable wake-up triggers and tamper detection in utility meters, where the sub-microamp average current allows coin-cell operation for months.
