SPI NOR Flash

PY25Q128LA

Manufacturer: PUYA

The PY25Q128LA is a 128 Mbit SPI NOR Flash on a 1.8 V rail. It is the low-voltage member of the PY25Q128 family, intended for wearable and battery-powered designs where the whole signal chain runs at 1.8 V and a 3.3 V flash would require an extra regulator or level shifters. Density is the same 16 Mbyte as the 3.3 V part.

Overview

The PY25Q128LA is a 128 Mbit serial NOR Flash memory from PUYA for 1.8 V systems. The datasheet specifies a single 1.65 – 2.0 V supply for read, erase and program with no separate programming voltage, and supports SPI mode 0 and mode 3. Typical timings are 0.5 ms page program, 50 ms sector erase and 0.16 s / 0.3 s block erase, with 100,000 erase cycles and 20-year data retention.

Current consumption is 4 mA for an 85 MHz single-transfer quad read, 7 mA during program or erase, 20 µA standby and 0.3 µA in deep power-down. The part is offered in industrial (-40 to +85 °C) and 105 °C grades in standard green packages, aimed at wearable and battery-powered products where the whole system runs from a 1.8 V rail.

Key features

  • 1.8 V operation avoids level shifters in a 1.8 V design
  • 128 Mbit density for code plus wearable data
  • Lower energy per operation than the 3.3 V equivalent

Typical applications

  • Wearable device firmware and data
  • Battery-powered sensor code storage
  • 1.8 V embedded platforms
