SPI NOR Flash

CMS25Q64A

Manufacturer: Cmsemicon

The CMS25Q64A is a 64 Mbit SPI NOR Flash. It appears in motor drive and motion controller designs because the firmware image for a field-oriented control loop plus its parameter tables fits comfortably in 8 Mbyte, and the part is read at boot into RAM. Like other SPI NOR devices in this class it supports standard, dual and quad read modes.

Overview

The CMS25Q64A is a 64 Mbit serial NOR Flash memory from Cmsemicon. The datasheet lists a 2.7 – 3.6 V single supply, a normal serial read clock of 100 MHz and a fast serial read of 120 MHz into a 30 pF load, with page program up to 256 bytes. Typical timings are 0.45 ms per page program, 35 ms per 4 KB sector erase, 0.10 s for a 32 KB block erase and 22 s for a full chip erase.

Active current is a maximum of 9 mA and power-down current a maximum of 0.7 µA, while typical data retention is 20 years. The device is offered in the standard SOP-8 package and is intended for firmware and configuration storage in consumer, industrial and control applications.
